- The tang of the helicoil wire thread insert, which is essential during installation, can be subsequently removed if a through hole is required or the screw is longer than the applied thread
- In these cases tang breaking tool is used. The precise external dimension and the concave shape of the support surface on the tang transfer the force exactly in proximity to the breaking notch
- In larger diameters tang breaking tool can be replaced by pliers, however, care must be taken, when breaking the tang to not to push the last turn of the thread out of its seat
How to use:
Insert the tang break tool and give a sharp blow, using a hammer to break the tang and not move it from its seat
