- The self-clinching nut solves the problem of those who need a strong threaded hole on sheet metal or light alloy. It offers high resistance to both torsion and tension. The Clinch nut is the most viable, reliable, economical alternative to using the weld nut. It has the advantages of more secure attachment, known and controllable strength values, lower overall application cost due to the lack of production waste and the absence of further processing after installation. In addition, the application result from an aesthetic point of view is perfect
- This self-clinching nut is part of our line of self-clinching inserts. All Clinch inserts are installed using a simple punch
- During installation process, the fastener is placed in an appropriately sized hole and then compressed by means of a punch, applyinng only sufficient pressure to squeeze the nut serrations into the parent sheet. The sheet metal experiences plastic deformation and locks the fastener firmly to itself. After installation the spigot joint should be flush with the sheet, so the result is aesthetically perfect. The nut serrations provide high tensile as well as torsional strength
- The nut can be mounted on already painted or treated sheet metal as it requires no further processing after installation
- To be use on sheet metal with maximum hardness: 80 RB (150 VPN) for galvanized steel nuts, and 70 RB (128 VPN) for stainless steel nuts
- Standard material: Galvanized Steel, Stainless Steel. And also AISI 400 (recommended for use on stainless steel sheets) upon request
