Cage nuts are fastening systems designed to create female threads in pre-punched sheet metal, without the need for tapping, welding, or riveting.
The nut is housed in a spring steel cage that allows quick installation into square holes without special tools, simply by compressing the cage wings and snapping them into place. This system ensures fast assembly and is particularly suitable for metal structures, electrical cabinets, racks, enclosures, photovoltaic installations, and industrial sheet-metal constructions.
The nut floats inside the cage and allows compensation of small hole misalignments, making assembly easier even when machining tolerances are present. Thanks to the elastic structure of the cage and the strength of the steel nut, the system provides high mechanical resistance, good tightening performance, and the ability to absorb lateral loads.
Cage nuts are installed by applying slight pressure to the cage from the rear side of the panel.
The range covers screw sizes from M3 to M12 and sheet-metal thicknesses from 0.3 mm to 6.2 mm.
As standard, we supply cage nuts in the following versions:
- Steel version: Zinc-plated steel nut + Zinc-plated steel cage
- Stainless steel+Steel version: Zinc-plated steel nut + Stainless steel cage
- Stainless steel version: Stainless steel nut + Stainless steel cage
Brass versions are also available on request.
