Ball expansion plugs are metallic sealing elements designed for the permanent sealing of machined holes in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
Their operating principle is based on the controlled expansion of the plug body through the insertion of an internal ball. During installation the ball is driven into the expanding sleeve, creating strong mechanical anchoring against the hole walls and ensuring reliable sealing without threading, welding, or sealing compounds.
Compared with traditional threaded plugs, expansion sealing plugs significantly reduce production time by eliminating operations such as tapping, welding, or applying sealing compounds.
EIS 11 sealing plugs consist of:
- sleeve in zinc-plated case-hardened steel
- ball in heat treated bearing steel.
The EIS 11 series represents the most economical solution within the range (EIS 33, EIS 31, and EIS 11). It is designed for standard industrial applications where high mechanical performance is required together with an excellent cost-performance ratio.
EIS 11 plugs can be used as hydraulic sealing plugs for circuits up to 340 bar.
Installation can be performed manually with a hammer or using a press. For optimal performance, the use of dedicated HT installation tools is recommended to ensure correct ball insertion and uniform expansion of the plug inside the hole.
Available for sealing machined holes from Ø3 to Ø22 mm.
Custom inch sizes, materials, and special surface treatments are available upon request.
