- Compression limiters are unthreaded inserts for plastic reinforcement, used as reinforcing bushings in plastic housings to increase resistance to the tightening of screws and bolts.
- The CL350 compression limiters are press-in type, designed for post-mold installation in plastic housings. They are produced from high carbon steel, zinc plated and have a supplementary coating of trivalent passivation and an organic sealant for corrosion resistance.
- The CL350 Heavy duty compression limiter is similar to CL220 but has thicker wall for increased bearing surface when clamped against soft mating materials. Generous bolt clearance also aids in positional alignment when multiple compression limiters are used in an assembly.
- During assembly, the spring force generated by the split seam provides self-retention without the need for additional fixtures. The flexible outside diameter compensates for wide hole tolerances, while the seam is engineered to prevent interlocking in the free state.
- As with all split seam compression limiters, it is recommended to prepare the plastic hole with a small entry radius to facilitate insertion. The host must respect the recommended tolerances for at least 60% of the plastic thickness, with a minimum engagement depth of 4 mm. The hole size must not fall below the specified minimum in order to prevent the seam from fully closing during assembly.
- The CL350 series is rated for use with bolts up to ISO Class 10.9 and is available in diameters ranging from M6 and M8. Special lengths and inch sizes can be supplied upon request.
