With the tap extensions for square tools according to DIN 10 it is possible to reach very deep internal thread. The extensions can be clamped in a suitable holding tool (e.g. tap wrench or tool ratchet) and the screw tap is inserted into the extension with the square shank. In addition to hand taps, other tools with a square shank, such as screw extractors or installation tools for thread inserts, can also be extended with this extension. The tap extensions are made of solid steel. This means that even high torques can be transmitted effortlessly.
